Jack Binding comes from London but lives in Sydney. He writes dark fiction that combines horror with black humour.

He regularly releases short stories on Amazon, which have received high critical praise (at the time of writing, that is).

He is inspired by writers such as Stephen King, Clive Barker, JG Ballard and Martin Amis.

  1. Nice meeting you Jack! Thank you for visiting and following my blog. Stop by, read one of my short stories and let me know what you think. You have an interesting blog and so I’m following you as well. Looking forward to reading some of your posts. šŸ˜€

  2. Good luck! I’ve got a 90,000 word one that’s been sitting here waiting to be edited for a year and I hate my protagonist. I’m going to send her to a shrink! Thanks for the follow, btw. I’ll be back. I like your energy!

  3. How far along are you in said novel, if you don’t mind my asking? I have a 200k plus action sci-fi that I have to edit down to 130k-ish before I start submitting. Would love to converse with another blogger who seems on the same path.

    1. Well…firstly, 200k! That’s some Frank Herbert-sized giant you have there – well done. I got to 100k (I tend to edit up rather than down), on the second draft. And then I just put it in a box and said “I’ll come back to this later.”
Although it was going quite well, my pacing was all over the place and it there were too many characters and plot points that I found jarring. It was essentially Richard III, but with dystopian body horror. Maybe I’ll go back to it, but right now I’m having way too much fun writing horror shorts (which, stylistically, I’m probably far better suited to anyway). Happy to chat through anything you like.

    1. If it ain’t bleak as hell, I ain’t interested! Indeed it does sound like we have similar leanings. Have just bought Five Uneasy Pieces on the back of the Amazon preview.
      Nice to meet you. šŸ™‚
